Davis Lacks Personal Responsibility

I’m convinced that absence of the ability to accept personal responsibility for your actions (or inactions) is the hallmark of the Democrat Party.  Our state’s top Democrat evidences this.  Governor Gray Davis’ blistering blame game strategy on California’s energy woes has earned him the highest unfavorable ratings in his term according to recent polls.

In the past few weeks, Gov. Davis has turned up the rhetorical heat while Californians have turned out their lights because of rolling blackouts expected to plague the state all summer long.  Gov. Davis has left no stone unturned in his campaign to point fingers in any direction – he has blamed the federal government, electric utilities, energy companies, and even President Bush in an increasingly negative and personal manner.

At the same time California’s budget surplus is evaporating because of the energy crisis, Gov. Davis is raiding the state treasury to hire two Democrat political hitmen for the spin war.  Longtime Democrat hitman Mark Fabiani and former Gore-for-President spinner Chris Lehane are raking in $30,000 a month from California’s taxpayers.

Maybe Governor Davis should put price caps on price-gouging political operatives.  Governor Davis ought to quit hiring spin doctors and pointing fingers and start working on California’s energy crisis.  $30,000 a month could buy electricity for thousands of California homes, but Gov. Davis would rather use that money to avoid the blame.
