When I read these polls in the news that show George
W. Bush’s approval ratings at 88-92 percent and his disapproval ratings
of 6-8 percent, I wonder who are these people who are disapproving and
why. Then I read the letters to the editor and I find the
answers. That 6-8 percent of
malcontents are people like Thomas Braun and other members of the lunatic
fringe like Taliban soldier John Walker. From my perspective, the issues batted around in the
media are crystal clear. First on all, Americans should thank God that George
W. Bush is our President. He
is a true leader who makes decisions based on what is right for America,
not what the polls say. He is
the real deal. Not a bunch of
fluff and polish in an empty suit. Eight years of the poll-driven Clinton and Gore
regime only encouraged the terrorists to proliferate by our lack of swift
and substantial retaliation to their attacks against us. If Al Gore had won his own state of Tennessee we
would be responding to the September 11 attacks by placing stiff sanctions
on Afghanistan, and Osama Bin Laden would be laughing at us. I believe that President Bush is right to use
military tribunals to bring the terrorists to justice.
Tribunals are infinitely more humane than any terrorist deserves
and we certainly don’t need our American court system turned into a
circus of suicidal jihad zealots. Constitutional
rights and due process are privileges of American citizenship, not alien
terrorists. We should prosecute John Walker for treason.
His support of the Twin Towers attack and the USS Cole bombing is
despicable and he should be punished severely. We need to build more B2 bombers and fund our
military to full capacity. We should not be negotiating truces with the Taliban
in exchange for immunity. They
should only be given two options, get shot or go to prison. Freedom should not be an option. Certainly, the Clinton/Gore pollsters and the lunatic fringe would not agree with my perspective.
