| After watching Al Gore give his
acceptance speech at his Reinvention Convention, one word comes to mind,
chutzpah. It takes chutzpah for him to take credit for welfare
reform and victory in the gulf war. Republicans fought for years to pass welfare reform and were vehemently opposed and demonized by the Democrats for having the nerve to suggest that we should make more efforts to move people from welfare to work. Then one day Bill Clinton's pollsters told him that welfare reform is a popular issue among voters. So Bill Clinton decided to sign that Republican bill and he has taken credit for welfare reform ever since. Now Al Gore is taking credit for it too! That's chutzpah. Last I checked it was George H.W. Bush and Dick Cheney that lead our troops to victory in the gulf war. Back then nobody had ever even heard of the Senator from Tennessee. That was back when Al Gore was cuddling up with the tobacco companies and the NRA. Now he is a flip-flopping fool. Obviously he assumes that the American People have short memories. |
