Palmdale City Council Extends Bob Toone's Contract

In a unanimous decision Wednesday night, Mayor Ledford and Councilmembers Mike Dispenza and Rod Penner voted to increase the City Manager's Annual Salary to $155,000.00 and extend his employment contract for an additional two years.  Apparently, the deal was crafted in closed session before the 7pm council meeting began.  The contract was approved without discussion.

Sorsabal's Seat replacement to be decided by voters in November

After over an hour of public testimony and a recapitulation by Mayor Ledford that his position was unwavering in favor of a special election or appointment of only John Mayfield or Joe Davies, a decision was made.  It would be a special election by a 2-1 vote with Rod Penner casting the opposing vote.
