AVCCR/CCR Holds Candidate Forum, Endorses
The AV Chapter of California Congress of Republicans (AV-CCR) held a candidates forum on 9/13 for all Republican Candidates slated for the November ballot. The forum was spirited and informative.  Although CCR's state charter prohibits the forum to include non-Republicans to be considered for endorsement, all political groups were invited to pose questions to the GOP candidates.  This format puts GOP candidates in a vulnerable position but the scrutiny of adversarial groups is welcomed.  According to Larry Hales, President of AVCCR, "We welcome the hard questions.  We feel that whoever wins the ticket in November should expect an onslaught of hard question, so we like to subject the candidates early to see how they hold up to the pressure."

The forum was followed by a closed session meeting of all members of AVCCR.  After much discussion the group voted unanimously to endorse only two of the candidates present at the forum, Richard Loa and Rick Norris.  Loa, an attorney for the County of Los Angeles,  is a candidate for the one year seat of the Palmdale City Council and Norris, a local businessman, is running for the three year seat on the Council.
