| Today’s commentary from Bill
Press is another example of him being stuck out in left field. If some
nutty Democrat proposed a bill to ban Christians from voting, Bill Press
would be out there blindly fighting to pass it.
In his article he advocates campaign finance reform but he opposes paycheck protection for union workers. All paycheck protection does is give union workers a choice as to where their money goes. Currently, millions of employees who work for union organized firms are forced to have dues deducted from their paychecks, which then goes to the big union bosses. The bosses then determine which politicians they are going to purchase with those funds. Invariably, they will always purchase Democrats. Unfortunately, this disenfranchises the millions of union workers who would prefer to have their hard earned, over-taxed, dollars go to a politician that actually shares their values. Paycheck protection is simply a matter of choice. Without paycheck protection you don’t have true campaign finance reform. This is exactly the same kind of Democrat tinkering that messed up our electric deregulation. Democrats need to learn that either you do it right or don’t bother doing at all. |
