I’m getting really tired of all of this
misinformation and name calling coming from the liberals about President
Bush’s environmental policy decisions. Unlike
the liberals, President Bush is making decisions based on verifiable facts
and prudent economic and social policy.
Liberals repeatedly revert to scare tactics and emotional
propaganda to push their irresponsible agendas. Lets
take the current arsenic level in water as an example.
Arsenic, like iron, is a naturally occurring metallic element that
appears in our water. Every
single living thing in this country, and the world for that matter, has
been consuming this water without any problems since the beginning of
time. For
the entire eight years of Bill Clinton it was just fine to keep the
acceptable level of arsenic in our water supply to 50ppb(parts per
billion). There was not one
peep from the liberals that there was any problem with this standard.
In fact, this has been the undisputed national standard for over 60
years. Then,
in his last days, between pardoning all of his criminal friends, and
stealing the Whitehouse furniture, Clinton signs a bunch of ridiculous
Presidental orders that threaten to bankrupt our country for no credible
reason. There is no
conclusive science to support changing the current water standard. Changing
the standard of arsenic in our water from 50ppb to 5ppd would cause one of
two things to happen. First,
it could bankrupt most of the smaller water companies across the country
since none of them have the equipment or resources to reach such a
stringent standard. Second,
it will cause our water bills to go up so high that consumers can no
longer afford to buy municipal water.
It is estimated that this new standard would increase the average
water bill by $200-300. So
then what? Many people will
dig wells and begin consuming totally untreated ground water. That is far more dangerous.
Others will not be able to afford water at all. But
in the mean time, the liberals will continue to say that President Bush is
killing babies with poison water. Give
me a break!
