Hispanic Republican Leaders Unite

Washington, D.C. - The Republican National Hispanic Assembly (RNHA), the Nation's largest Hispanic Republican organization held its biennial convention, Friday, April 27, 2001. RNHA represents the interests of 7 million Hispanic Republican voters.

The conventioneers, more than one hundred nationally recognized Hispanic Republican leaders, reviewed national and regional political issues, formulated initiatives and announced the members of its new executive board.

Board members, proudly elected by acclamation, reflect the diversity within the Hispanic population and the Untied States.

Members of the 2001 RNHA Executive Board include:
Mr. Massey Villarreal, TX - Chairperson
Mr. Luis Batista Salas, PR - 1st Co-Chairperson
Ms. Rosemary Barbour, MS - 2nd Co-Chairperson
Ms. Lee Avila, CA - Secretary
Mr. Joe Galvan, IL - Treasurer
Mr. Humberto Amaro, FL - Assistant Secretary
Mr. Federico Morales, VA - Assistant Treasurer

The first order of business by Chairman Villarreal was the appointment of Mr. Jose Rivera to the newly created position of Chairman Emeritus. The RNHA is an allied organization of the Republican National Committee (RNC).

Our mission is to build a membership organization to foster the principles of the Republican Party while providing American Hispanics with a forum to play an influential role in local, state, and national Party activities. The RNHA Weekly is published weekly by the Republican National Hispanic Assembly of the United States.
