Minutes for Special Meeting
December 08, 2001

Meeting called to order at 11:16am

1.  Acceptance of Proxies:  Pat Sileo made a motion to authorize the proxies.  Rick Zamudio seconded the motion.  The motion was affirmed by unanimous vote of members in attendance.

2.  Adoption of a rule regarding qualified members to vote for endorsing candidates: 

Pat Sileo made a motion to adopt a rule that requires members of RNHA to be members for at least 90 days before they are eligible to vote to endorse candidates for political office.  Dean Henderson Seconded the motion.  Ed Sileo amended the motion to sixty days membership.  Roy Ramirez, Sr seconded that motion.  The motion was affirmed by unanimous vote of members in attendance.

The language for the new rule shall be as follows

The Antelope Valley Chapter of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly(AVRNHA) shall be empowered to hold forums and/or interviews of Republican candidates for the purpose of endorsing.  AVRNHA members in good standing, who have been recognized and accepted as members by the national RNHA headquarters for not less than sixty days, shall be eligible to vote for the selection of a candidate for endorsement by the AVRNHA.

3.  Adjourment: Meeting was adjourned at 11:37am
