Minutes for Regular Meeting
March 15, 2008

Meeting called to order at 2:30pm at the home of Dean Henderson

2.  Introductions:  n/a

3.  Old Business: 
     A. New EIN Number - James Shambron mentioned that he has obtained a new EIN
          number for AV-RNHA.

     Ava Shanbrom was given permission by the membership to open a checking account for
     AVRNHA and deposit the membership dues collected.  She was instructed to find a
     bank that doesn't charge monthly service fees.  She was also instructed to have Daniel
     Martinez and Ava Shanbrom as the authorized signatories. (See Agenda item 5)

     B. Pre-election board appointments
          A motion was was made by Drew Mercy and seconded by Ron Smith to appoint
          Daniel Martinez as interim Chairman.  Another motion was made by James Shambron
         and seconded by Angel Rice to appoint Ava Shambron as Interim Chairman.  A vote
         of the members in attendance produced a majority vote for Daniel Martinez as
         interim.Chairman.

         A motion was made by Paul Bunch and seconded by Ron Smith to appoint Gerald
        Vick as Interim Secretary-Treasurer.   Another motion was made by James Shambron
        and seconded by Aida Walls to appoint Ava Shambron as Interim
        Secretary-Treasurer.   A vote of the members in attendance produced a majority vote
        for Ava Shambron as Interim.Chairman.
     C. Basic organizational objectives
          Richard Loa communicated that the mission of our local organization is to promote the
          principals of the Republican Party as representatives among the Hispanic community.
          To recruit and inform Hispanics on how to become more effective in the political
          arena through seminars, campaign workshops and newsletters.  To develop ones
          political skills and leadership abilities in preparation for public office.

4.  New Business:
     A. Distribution of RNHA By-Laws
          James Shambron brought RNHA By-Laws for membership review.
     B. State Convention Bakersfield April 19, 2008
         Richard Loa announced that there would be a statewide RNHA convention on
        April 19th, 2008.  He mentioned that there would be election of statewide
        officers there.
     C. Membership
     D. Candidate endorsement policy
          Richard Loa noted that the RNHA has a policy which forbids endorsement in
          contested elections where there are more Republican Candidates than there are seats.

5.  Non-agenda issues, comments and questions:
